The Foundation Committee of BNP Paribas has chosen to help to restore two works of art kept in museums in Germany and Greece.
The first one, located in Frankfurt’s Städel Museum, is a 15th century altarpiece by Macrino d’Alba, whose restoration will be co-financed by BNP Paribas Germany. The second is a series of ten frescos that used to adorned the eastern wall of the monastery church of the Virgin Hodegetria in Lefkas. It is now part of the collection of the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens. BNP Paribas Greece will also provide co-funding for its restoration.
