The sustainable investor for a changing world

A changing world constantly requires new, creative, sustainable and forward-looking investment solutions. Sustainable investment is not an option, but a necessity.

BNP Paribas Asset Management is an independent asset manager offering investors both active and passive investment solutions to generate sustainable, long-term income. We stand for a healthier, greener and more just world. This is already a tradition with us given that we have been committed to greater sustainability since 2002. It is today the basis for all our investment decisions. This is how we promote a low-carbon, environmentally sustainable and inclusive economy. To this end, we have consistently expanded our range and applied sustainability criteria to all our investment funds.

One of our great strengths is innovative sustainable thematic funds. Investors can thus invest in the major economic and social trends of tomorrow

Investments in the energy revolution

Climate change brings with it more and more risks. The reasons are population growth, increasing prosperity and urbanisation – and all these trends are rising. Moving global energy systems away from fossil fuels and towards low-carbon energy sources is essential to mitigate these risks and move towards a more sustainable global economy.

The “BNP Paribas Energy Transition Fund” focuses on companies with sustainable and environmentally friendly practices that we believe have attractive growth potential. In the long term, the fund should benefit from changing conditions, better technologies, consumer demand and investor preferences.

The two portfolio managers responsible for the fund have worked together for more than 20 years. As a result, they have extensive experience in fundamental, thematic and quantitative investments.

Investments in breakthrough innovations

Technical innovations can change a business model or an entire industry from the ground up. Such upheavals are not limited to the IT sector. Online commerce, streaming services, telemedicine, the Internet of things, 3D printing, cloud computing as well as artificial intelligence show that production and supply chains worldwide are becoming more efficient and faster, while at the same time, established companies can lose significant market share to start-ups.

The “BNP Paribas Disruptive Technology Fund” is invested in companies of varying market capitalisation across all sectors. The fund manager in charge specialises in “disruptive technologies.” In making the selection, she relies on the extensive research of the BNP Paribas Group and also takes ESG factors into account.

Investments in medical technology

Over the past decade, the health sector has developed strongly, driven by numerous technological advances in informatics, robotics and biotechnology, as well as structural factors such as demographic trends.  The ECPI Global ESG Medical Tech Index is an equally weighted index designed to provide investors with an investment in the most active listed companies in the developed global markets in sustainable medical technology. The indices also include ESG filters and sector exclusions. The 50 index members are selected from the four sectors of biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare equipment and suppliers, and healthcare technology.

Investors can invest in this equity index with the BNP Paribas Easy ECPI Global Med Tech.
